Denia and its important harbour with about 29 000 habitants does not only make their living from tourism. It possesses one of the most important harbours of the area, with ferry connections to Ibiza, Mallorca and others. This and the huge fishing fleet made Denia a very prosperous city over the past years. Every afternoon you can buy fresh fish at the fish market. From Denia harbour there is a daily ferry boat connection to the islands Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca. The fast boat will take you to Ibiza in two hours.
Sightseeing in Denia - One of the most visited tourist attractions of Denia is the Castillo (castle). The castle built in the 11th and 12th century offers a wonderful view around the sea, the city and the backlands. Within the castle you will find the Palau del Governador with its museum. Along with the other interesting museum in Denia the Museo Etnologico you will be given further details on the rich history and culture of Denia. You should also do some shopping along the main road Calle de Marques de Campo. Along with some Denia hotels you will find many bars and little restaurants. Make sure you test some of the excellent cakes and sweets of local confectionery and bakery shops, Denia is famous for it. In the Denia area there are 4 golf courses to chose from within an hour's drive.
MORAIRA AND JAVEA - Moraira is part of the municipality of Teulada, situated about four miles inland. In earlier times the centers of population were situated away from the coasts to offer some protection from marauding pirates and invaders- Romans, Morrs, Berbers etc. Moraira developed as the fishing port for Teulada, and bodi the lookout tower (Torre-vigia) on Cap d'Or overlooking Moraira's El Portet beach, and the castle are reminders of the past
OUT AND ABOUT - There are a number of activities for children in the Benidorm area which include Mundomar Marine Park and Terra Mitica "historical" Theme park. El Vergel safari park is right on the door step in Denia and also in the area are a number of go-karting tracks. Valencia city is well worth a visit for the central market, and the Oceanographic (spectacular aquarium) that forms part of the City of Arts and Sciences. GOLFING ACTIVITIES - The 18 hole Club with the Jose Maria Olazabal designed 18 hole course at the Club de Golf La Sella being located just a 5 minute drive away. De Golf Ifach is located only 20km away in the local town of Benissa and offers club and trolley hire plus discounted rates for group bookings and juniors. Further courses include the 9 hole Club de Golf Javea in Javea itself only 10 minutes away.

Denia lies about 85 km north east of Alicante along the Costa Blanca. Doubtless Denia is famous for being one of the most attractive places to spend your holidays. You best reach Denia via the road N 332, a wonderful road along the coastline of the Costa Blanca or the highway A7. If you have some time discover the beauty of the area via the N 332 - you will love it's views. Another nice way to come to Denia is the narrow gauge railway Denia Benidorm Alicante. Denia in between Gandia in the north and Javea in the south is every summer one of the most visited cities around. Denia lies directly on the resort. The average Denia weather reaches temperatures of up to 40 °C in summer, but hardly less than 5 °C during winter time.
